For example, if your estate is not complex, we may recommend that you prepare and execute a basic will with a simple trust. If there are minor children involved, we may encourage you to include a health care proxy (also known as a living will), as well as a power of attorney. In more complex estates, our packages often include lifetime gifting programs, long-term care packages and different types of trusts, including living and testamentary trusts.
Estate Planning
When you come to us for estate planning, we will start by learning as much as we can about you, your financial situation and objectives. We will then help you understand the different strategies available to accomplish your goals. We will also evaluate the tax consequences of the different estate planning tools. If you have one, we will work closely with your existing financial advisor and when beneficial, we can refer you to an accountant.
Once you have determined which approach is best for you, we will prepare and implement all the documents you need to implement your estate plan, which may include:

Estate Management
If you have been named executor or administrator of the estate of a loved one, we will guide you through the probate process, from appointment through distribution. We will coordinate with your accountant to ensure that all actions are taken with appropriate consideration of the estate and other tax consequences.
We will help you meet the requirements of the probate process, including the preparation of an inventory of assets, the payment of all final debts and taxes, and the distribution of assets as directed in the will. If the will is challenged for any reasons, we act as your advocate, protecting your rights and the interests of the estate.
